I see you standing there
I see you standing there,
looking through the tree.
Your eyes are squinting.
Shielding from
the harsh sunlight
blasting through the leaves.
Blinding sun.
So bright you can't see anything else.
I know. I saw that too.
My eyes still adjusting.
I stand here looking at the
exact same tree.
My eyes relax
as I soak in the sunlight
softly highlighting the beauty
that I was blind to moments before.
Beauty was there the whole time.
I just couldn't see it.
I only needed to walk to the other side of the tree.
