Working through grief has shaped who I am today and is a lens through which I see the world.  I am here to tell my stories of living life after parent loss so that I can provide resources for you to learn how to navigate your own hard road of loss or disappointment.

Me and my brother at his 40th Birthday party!!

My Faith:  My faith in Jesus is intertwined in everything I do.  Having lost my parents before I was married, I have been forced to rely heavily on Jesus to walk through life.

Writing: I am an internal processor and can often be found processing my life experiences by writing about what is going on in life in my own private journal.

In this place, I pull from my own private journals and the photography images I have gathered to write meaningful stories that will encourage, inspire and perhaps amuse you.

Photography:  I love taking pictures.  My children have gotten used to waiting for me while I take pictures.  They roll their eyes and exclaim, "MOM!" when we are driving and something catches my eye.  Must to their dismay, I pull off to the side of the road to get the perfect shot. I try to work quickly...

Books:  I love to read but am notorious for starting a book and never finishing it.  I do have some that I have read the whole way through and you can find my list of favorites HERE

Work Experience:  I am a Registered Nurse and have worked in maternity nursing. I left my job as an RN over 12 years ago after the birth of my 3rd child. Most recently I spent a year working part-time among the Amish and Mennonite community assisting a Home Birth Certified Nurse Midwife.  I continue to work as an Office "Manager" by default in our own business, while training upcoming staff.

Married: My husband Brian and I will celebrate 18 years of marriage this December!

Full-Time Mom: We have four wonderful children - ages 10-15.

Owning a Business:
My husband and I have owned our own business (Line Painting and Traffic Sign Installation) for the 18 years that we have been married.  I have learned so much about being an entrepreneur and about leadership over the past 18 years. I have also developed this ridiculous love of signs and lines, which you will see from time to time in my photography and my thought process.

Receive a dose of encouragement every Tuesday
